Ultra-Fast Broadband Rollout

Ultra-Fast Broadband Rollout

Ultra-Fast Broadband fibre (UFB) is being installed across New Zealand, with the target of reaching 87% of the population by 2022.

KB Contractors have been involved in the installation of UFB across Otago and Southland for the past eight years. As subcontractors to Downer & Broadspectrum predominantly, KB Contractors have had between 10-14 staff undertaking all works to complete the roll out including directional drilling, hauling and cable jointing.

Over the last eight years, the designs and plans for installing UFB have come a long way. New and better technology is now being used and KB Contractors have kept up to date with this. Throughout the project, the timeline for completing installations was tight but KB Contractors ensured the deadlines were met and the work was of a high standard.
